Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade, Lenita Toivakka will attend the General Affairs Council scheduled to be held in Brussels on Wednesday, said an official press release.
The meeting agenda will include the Italian Presidency Work Programme, a discussion on ways to improve the efficiency of the implementation of European Council conclusions, the mid-term review of the Europe 2020 Strategy, and the accession of Lithuania to the Economic and Monetary Union on 1 January 2015.
This is the first time that Minister Toivakka will represent Finland at the General Affairs Council. While in Brussels, she will also have a meeting with European Commission Vice President Maroš Šefčovič and Commissioner for Trade Karel de Gucht.
