The Ulvila murder case has taken another twist with it being confirmed that Anneli Auer, son of the accused, will not testify in the court.

Auer’s son informed the court during the beginning of the court’s proceedings in Pori that he does not want to be heard in court.

The boy was scheduled to appear before the court in person for the first time after reaching the age of 15.

He was to appear before the court through a video link from the coastal town of Turku. The court session had reserved time for the boy to be heard in two days. In the past, the boy’s evidence has been heard in video recording.

It is not a must for the boy to testify in legal proceedings because of his position as an aggrieved party.

Anneli Auer convicted for killing her husband in 2006 had been acquitted by the appeal court last year. The Supreme Court, however, upheld the previous judgments in the case and ordered the district courts to hold a fresh trial in this regards.
