Two men who broke into a jewellery shop at Pohjoisesplanadi street in Helsinki in January were sentenced to 3 years in prison.

The robbers made away with valuable watches estimated at 180,000 euros.

The District Court of Helsinki said the shop vendors were tied and threatened with an air-gun which was mistaken for an authentic weapon.

One of the shop vendors, however, managed to press the alarm button which alerted the security. The robbers were afterwards caught and brought back.

A ground plan of the premises was also found inside the car belonging to the robbers, which according to the court indicated that the premise had been examined in advance before the robbery.
