Finland, Norway and Sweden will organize a large air exercise in the air space of the three Nordic countries at the end of May.
 
In addition to the organizing countries, the Netherlands, Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, as well as the military alliance NATO will be participating.
 
The aim of the Arctic Challenge Exercise 15 is to develop international cooperation.
 
The bulk of the training area consists of northern Swedish airspace, part of the Finnish Lapland, as well as parts of northern Norway, the Finnish Air Force said in a statement.
 
The air exercise will continue for approximately two weeks. The countries will fly together for the first time on May 25.
 
Finland will be participating in the event with 16 Hornet fighter jets. In all, more than 100 aircrafts will be involved in the Arctic Challenge.
