The process of drawing up a social policy continues into the evening in bilateral meetings with the coalition builder Juha Sipilä and representatives of organisations.

The basis for discussions, among other things, is a draft for the social policy as well as this morning’s wider meeting between organisation leaders and Sipilä.

The next time the representatives for all organisations are scheduled to meet is Thursday morning.

Organisations will be notified by 14:00 tomorrow at the latest whether they are to be included in the social policy.

The process has been described by sources in the negotiations as difficult. Sipilä has stressed confidentiality during the negotiations, so the information is, at the moment, limited.

“This is going in the right direction, but it still requires significant clarifications and amendments to the draft,” Labour Market Director Markku Jalonen said.

Sipilä’s aim is reportedly to bring a letter of intent to all social policy parties tomorrow morning.
