The District Court of Helsinki on Tuesday sentenced a woman for continued pimping which went on for over six years.

According to the court, the woman, among other things, posted on behalf of the prostitutes online advertisements and took care of the customer bookings.

The prostitutes on their part paid the woman 10 percent of their earnings totalling over 60,000 euros.

According to the court, a fair penalty was supposed to 2 years and four months sentence in prison.

However, the woman confessed to her crimes, and as a result, the penalty was lessened. Finally the woman was sentenced to a year and seven months conditional imprisonment and will not head to prison.

As for the criminal gains, the woman will have to reimburse the state.

According to a statement from the court, handing of conditional imprisonment to the woman was supported by the fact that the prostitutes were involved in the activities on a voluntary basis and the financial exploitation of the woman was lower than usual.

Furthermore, the woman was in remand for four months.
