A woman died in an apartment fire in Kerava early Sunday evening.

According to the fire chief on duty, the high-rise apartment on Kalliojärventie was ablaze when the fire brigade arrived.

A woman found inside the apartment died despite resuscitation attempts.

The fire did not spread from the third-floor apartment to any other apartment in the building. The apartment was completely destroyed.

The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
