The police recovered the body of an elderly woman who drowned in Tornio on Sunday morning.
According to police sources, the woman left home a half past six O'clock in the morning. Afterwards, she was reported missing.
The police said the search was launched immediately. The woman was quickly discovered at Tornijoki beach located near her residence, but nothing could be done to save her life.
The police do not suspect involvement of crime in the woman's death.
