The two presidents will discuss the Ukrainian crisis, bilateral relations and relations between the EU and Russia, confirmed a release from the Office of the President.
In a press briefing, Niinistö told reporters that the meeting relates to President Niinistö’s earlier telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and, for example, with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Niinistö met Ban Ki-moon and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbajev in the Kazakhstan capital Astana.
Niinistö discussed the crisis in Ukraine with the two leaders.
Niinistö last visited Moscow last summer when he discussed the crisis in Ukraine with the Russian president.
