Every year, there are several concrete situations related to threats on employees, robberies and to some extent intrusions at the facilities abroad, said the ministry’s security unit.
In total the country has 89 foreign missions abroad.
The risks are mainly faced by individual employees and not the foreign ministry or Finland.
According to the ministry’s director of security, the most notable situation of danger was in March 2012 during the evacuation of the mission in Damascus due to the security situation.
