A 55-year-old man was killed in a snowmobile crash in Viitasaari in Central Finland on Sunday.
Relatives of the deceased became worried and called emergency services when the man did not come home.
The man was found dead in the ice near his snowmobile. Tracks showed that the man had driven near a rocky islet on the beach when his snowmobile rose into the air and hit a large rock.
The snowmobile then jumped again into the air and was thrown more than 30 meters away.
The weather conditions were very difficult due to ice water and slush. Visibility was also hampered on Sunday due to heavy snowfall. Police are investigating the incident.
Police has asked snowmobile drivers to take caution because similar incidents have happened in the past.
