The Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) youth front chair, Sebastian Tynkkynen is under investigation for ethnic incitement.

The Oulu police have begun a criminal investigation into some Facebook posts made by Tynkkynen following a complaint lodged by an individual.

According to the plaintiff, Tynkkynen has spread false and malicious information and attitudes that denigrate Finland’s Muslim population, said the lead investigator, Inspector Tapani Tasanto of the Oulu police.

The request for an investigation was accompanied by a dozen pages of Tynkkynen’s writings.

According to Tasanto, a prosecutor from the General Prosecutor’s Office will assess in more details the writings and work in cooperation with the police. The investigation will also consult Tynkkynen.

Tynkkynen himself had not heard before about the launch of the criminal investigation. “I’m hearing about this for the first time through the news; the police have not yet contacted me,” Tynkkynen said.

Tynkkynen posted on Facebook, among other sites, that Finland should cease its Islamification and should restrict access of the Muslims. He has also called for “the eradication of Islam from Finland.”

After the terrorist attack in Nice, Tynkkynen wrote, “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.”
