Tue, 04 Oct, 2016 12:01:25 AM FTimes - STT Report, Oct 4 File Photo – Lehtikuva. Customs Director General Antti Hartikainen is suspected of harassment of subordinates, reported the Finnish language newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
An allegation in this regard was submitted to the Ministry of Finance in a secret file.
According to the newspaper, Customs’ social psychologist made an occupational safety and health declaration about Hartikainen, which is addressed to Secretary of State Martti Hekemäki at the Ministry of Finance.
Customs operates under the auspices of the finance ministry.
Those who say they have been the targets of harassment believe that the prolonged period of harassment has repeatedly made work more difficult, prevented official duties, and that Hartikainen has refused a public employment review and direct communications.
The case is a continuation of disputes and ambiguities that surround Customs.
Hartikainen previously received a serious warning from the finance ministry about criticising a subordinate publicly in an inappropriate manner.
