Dominating role of 2 states criticized

The Prime minister, Jyrki Katainen on Tuesday said Finland is interested to follow a moderate positive integrating policy in the European Union.

Speaking at a programme participated by the politicians and diplomatic experts in Helsinki, the Finnish Primer expressed his dissatisfaction over the role of two extreme member states who draw most attention and dominate in the EU discourses mostly.

He said that Finland has already drawn attention to the rude languages and contemptuous remarks made by the dominating nations at the recent period.

Terming the non-compliance as a major drawback of EU, Katainen urged the EU for practicing a "fair integration" policy.

He said that a strong Europe could extend fair competition and job market for the youths by achieving a strong economy.

The policy indicating speech of the prime minister also included different other issues like internal market, banking, energy and free trade with the special attention attributed to US and Japan.

He also emphasized to the common security and defense policies for the member states in the EU and ensure the rule of law inside the nations.

 

Earlier, the Prime minister at the end of the  three-day Lapland Retreat-2013 on Sunday recommended for strengthening  the common foreign and security policies among the EU nations.  
He  said Finland has taken the common foreign and security  issues  with  great importance and the issues are expected to be discussed in the upcoming EU summit  scheduled for December this year.
Katainen said that the foreign and security issues were not given due importance in the EU summit despite having its necessity following the changes taken place in the global security policy. 
He said that the USA defense importance has been decreased significantly, which prompted the EU leaders to discuss the security measures with due emphasis.
Regarding the cooperation, the Finnish Primer hoped that  there should be necessary cooperation among the EU member states in material purchase and some degree of military capabilities.
He also hoped that the each and every country would continue to uphold the strategic performances in the state accordingly.
