The number of overall divorces decreased due particularly to a sharp fall in the divorce rate in the age group of 45 to 54 years.
The report said although the number of divorces decreased slightly, the divorce rate was still high in the country.
Sixty-nine per cent of the marriages that ended in divorce in 2012 were the first ones for both the spouses.
In 2012, the number of same-sex partnership registrations was 329. Of them, 110 were male couples and 219 female.
A total of 103 registered same-sex partnerships ended in divorce, of which 36 were male couples and 67 female.
In 2011, 333 same-sex partnerships were registered and 85 ended in divorce, the report said.
