FTimes-STT Report, Nov 11

The Court of Appeal initiated proceedings in the harassment case involving former director of the Transport Worker's Union (AKT) Timo Räty.

Räty was handed a 80-day fine by the Helsinki District Court in January after being accused of work place harassment by Hilkka Ahde, former head of the union’s communication department.

In addition, Räty and the AKT were ordered to pay a total of 12,000 euro to Ahde as compensation for the legal costs incurred.

Räty made an appeal to the Court of Appeal denying the harassment accusation.

The proceedings will continue until end of the month.
