Team Finland and Slush, which has joined the ranks of the world's leading technology and start-up events, are intensifying their collaboration, said a press release of the ministry of employment and economy on Wednesday.

 

Team Finland is supporting Slush's significant growth through ‘Invest in Finland’ by granting 610,000 euros as participating costs for organising the event to be held at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre in mid-November.

 

The event is growing from last year's 7,000 participants to more than 10,000 this year.

 

'A key goal of both Team Finland and Slush is to bring more international investments to Finland. The results of Slush speak for themselves. In the past year, growth companies that have taken part in Slush have received more than EUR 150 million in funding. Slush is agile, fast and efficient.  The strengths of Team Finland lie in greater resources and a worldwide marketing network,' said Minister of Economic Affairs, Jan Vapaavuori.

 

Team Finland brings together all state-funded services and organisations that support the internationalisation and growth of companies.

 

Among other things, the network offers information on opportunities on various markets, advice on the different phases of internationalisation, funding and support for the establishment of corporate relations and visibility.

 

The Slush event is organised by Startup Sauna, which is owned by the Startup Sauna Foundation. Slush is an annual two-day technology and start-up event which brings the start-up field of the Nordic Countries, the Baltic Countries and Russia to Helsinki, together with international investors, large companies and media from all around the world.

 

Team Finland has its own stand at Slush on November 18 to 19.
