The last session of the present parliament will prorogue on Saturday as the tenure of the present government is about to end.
 
The parliamentary elections will be held on April 19. 
 
The House will complete its work as planned, said Speaker Eero Heinäluoma on Friday.
 
The Speaker’s Council was engaged in work in the early evening hours of Friday.
 
On Friday a decision was made on which pending government bills will be discussed in parliament before the House goes to recess.
 
The parliament will hold its last session on Saturday with a focus on voting after second reading of the government bills on the floor.
 
The plenary session will start at 10:00 a.m.
 
The main parliament building will be vacated after proroguing the parliament due to renovations which will continue until autumn of 2017.
 
The incoming parliament will be temporarily housed at the Sibelius Academy.
