The Helsinki District Court on Monday sentenced Timo Ensio Ryhänen, a 41-year-old man, to prison for numerous counts of child sexual abuse. The man preyed on 12-15-year-old girls mostly online, where he had profiles on a number of different sites.
He was sentenced to six years and nine months for three counts of child sexual abuse felony and more than 10 counts of sexual abuse.
There were 27 victims in total, including nine whom the man had met in person. Three of the girls had sexual intercourse with the man several times.
The middle-aged man lied about his age on the Internet, claiming to be much younger, and tried to lure teenage girls to get-togethers.
Three mobile phones and a computer were confiscated from Ryhänen’s home for the trial. Among the evidence found were, among other things, Skype conversations between the man and underage girls.
