FTimes-STT Report, Apr 2

The Kainuu District Court on Friday fined a police officer working at the Oulu Police Department on charge of unauthorised viewing of data.

The police officer in his 50s viewed documents on the police Patja system related to the investigation of a traffic accident in which a police officer died, even though the documents were not related to his duties.

He also read information about a criminal investigation into the accident and the investigation into the cause of death, which contained the personal details of a number of people.

The District Court ordered the police official to pay a fine of ten days, or 250 euros, for negligent violation of official duty.

The Court dismissed the charges about the personal data information.
