FTimes-STT Report, Apr 29

The Finnish Customs uncovered a drug smuggling operation that has brought drugs into Finland since the end of 2014.

The organisation is suspected of having ordered the drugs through the Tor network and distributing the drugs, mainly in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

The street value of the drugs both seized from and already distributed by the operation is estimated by Customs to be more than 860,000 euros.

Customs in February seized a shipment containing more than 2,000 ecstasy tablets. Preliminary investigation, seized postal items and house searches revealed cocaine, amphetamine powder and oil. According to the investigation, the same organisation was also bringing MDMA powder.

The drugs seized by Customs was trafficked from the Netherlands. Five people in Finland are suspected in the operation. Three of them are currently in police custody.
