FTimes – STT Report, Oct 12

The national postal corporation Posti has made a request for crime investigation into mails found abandoned in the Lauttasaari neighbourhood of Helsinki, Posti sources said.

Hundreds of mails were found ditched on a street in Lauttasaarion Friday and Monday.

Posti launched an investigating once the mails lying on the street became publicly known.

Posti decided to report the matter for investigation because vandalism cannot be ruled out.

The corporation has also made changes to the delivery of mail stacks due to the incident.

Pictures of half-opened mail stacks swamped the social media last Monday. The stacks included both papers and mails.

Posti Delivery Manager Anna Sampo told the Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat that nearly 400 customers’ mails were left on the street.
