The Mustankorkea waste treatment plant in Jyväskylä caught fire on Tuesday. According to the fire chief, the fire involved a 3000 square meter composting plant, the roof structures of which caught fire.
The chief fire fighter said the inferno was contained in one end of the hall, so that the other end could be saved. The fire did not pose danger to people.
The emergency centre received the alarm for the fire before 16:30 pm on Tuesday. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
