Kanta-Häme Police Department have dismissed the police officer who in October was fined for two counts of breach of conduct and personal date file offence.

The officer was fined by the Kanta-Häme District Court after it emerged that in summer of 2013 in Hauho, the police officer stopped a 20-year-old motorist and threatened to beat him up with the help of his colleague.

The motorists were reported to have had a disagreement with the police officer’s son a few days earlier before the incident in Huaho.

The incident was recorded and posted on YouTube.

According to the court, the police officer had also conducted an illegal search for the 20-year-old’s information from the police register.

According to Kanta-Häme Police, the officer’s dismissal is based on the law on civil servants which states that an official must behave in their position and duty as required. In addition, a police officer must behave well in both official capacity as well as in private life.
