A woman working as a practical nurse in the Southwest Finland municipality of Pöytyä is suspected of lying about her credentials.
The National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health-Valvira is investigating the matter.
According to the Finnish language tabloid Italehti, the nurse was dismissed when the municipality discovered that she had lied about her formal qualification.
According to the Iltalehti report, the woman had worked in homecare for about a year and a half and gave medicines as well as took blood tests.
Valvira confirmed to the news agency STT that the suspect has responded to the request sent for clarification.
There is a possibility that the municipality will take the matter to the police for investigation.
One can work as a practical nurse without having graduated from practical nursing school but cannot use the credential of a practical nurse.
According to Valvira, a dozen of such cases are manifested annually.
