At least 16 persons were killed and 487 injured in road traffic accidents in November, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
 
At total of 388 accidents involving personal injury occurred in road traffic in the month. 
 
The number of persons killed was 14 lower and that of persons injured 94 lower than in November 2013, the data show. 
 
Of the persons who were killed, nine travelled by passenger cars and one by van. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered four and cyclists one.
 
In addition, one other road user was killed. Among those who died, 12 were men and four were women.
 
A total of 4,803 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November 2014 period. In them, 200 persons were killed and 6,026 persons injured, according to the statistics.
 
The number of persons killed was 39 lower and that of persons injured 83 lower than in the corresponding period of 2013.
