Finnish peace-keeping troops stationed in Lebanon as part of the UNIFIL operations will celebrate this Christmas in both Finnish and Irish ambiance.

The Finnish-Irish battalion Christmas Eve will feature Finnish traditions while the Christmas Day will be observed in the Irish way.

Even though the weather and the environment are not Christmas-like, Christmas decorations and Christmas spirit are in the air.

Even Santa Claus will make a stop-over, said the Army Headquarters.

The battalion will also be warmed by five Finnish saunas.

The peace-keeping troops will also have the opportunity to follow the proceeding of the Finnish tradition of Christmas Peace Declaration.

Sports and live music also feature in the battalion’s Christmas programme.
