FTimes-STT Report, Feb 23

A lost Danish man was on Sunday morning found 110 kilometres from the place he had been seen last.

The man had left a restaurant in Kilpisjärvi late on Saturday night and was reportedly very drunk, scantly clothed and was not carrying a mobile phone.

A police patrol arrived at Kilpisjärvi from Hetta located 180 kilometres away. The only clue which helped the people searching for the lost man were meandering footprints on the side of the road.

The search efforts of the police patrol and rescue services, however, did not produce any result all night long.

Luckyly, the 45-year-old freezing Danish man was found on Sunday morning at Karesuvanto.

The man could not explain how he had managed to trek for 110 kilometres during the night.

The Border Guard patrol which participated in search efforts took the man back to Kilpisjärvi.
