The police and the border guard carried out a massive inspection of snow mobile riders around the areas of Levi and Ylläs on Saturday night and early hours of Sunday.
The police conducted alcoblow checks to over 600 snow mobile riders in the area, but only one rider was caught for suspected drunken driving.
Furthermore, two snowmobile riders were apprehended for alleged endangering of traffic safety due to over-speeding and some others were stopped for serious recklessness.

The highest speed measured during the inspection was 132 kilometres per hour, while the recommended speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour.
In total, 11 were penalised while 7 cases resulted to spot fines. Another 41 incidents resulted to serious written warnings.
