A well-informed source has confirmed that three fundamentalist terrorists are currently staying in Finland, reported the Finnish language tabloid Iltalehti.

They are suspected of operating as management figures for terrorist cells.

The three have been refused asylum, but are appealing the decisions. They have not yet been removed from the country, despite authorities’ wishes.

According to the newspaper, the persons are related to Mullah Krekar of the Ansar al-Islam terrorist organisation which has developed into the Rawti Shax terrorist organisation.

The terrorist organisation led by Krekar is trying to establish an Islamist state in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Rawti Shax is also suspected of planning abduction of diplomats and a number of terrorist acts.

The Italian police detected the terrorist cell on November 17.

At that time, at least four of the cell members were said to have contacts inside Finland.

The Security Police did not make any comment to STT in this regard.
