Häkämies took to the social media site Facebook to announce that he got married to Mari Pantsar on the eve of the New Year.
Pantsar works in a senior position at the Finnish Innovation Fund-Sitra.
Häkämies has worked at helm of EK since end of 2012.
He assumed office after relinquishing his position as the Minister of Economic Affairs in the Jyrki Katainen's cabinet. He also left the parliament after his appointment.
The EK chief was a Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) lawmaker from 1999 to 2012.
