The case began on Thursday in the Pirkanmaa District Court.
According to the indictment, the man broke down the front door of his cousin's home and burst inside, threatening to kill the cousin.
He hit his cousin on the left cheek with a knife as well as on the hands and feet. The wounds re-quired, according to prosecution, more than one hundred stitches.
“[The accused] was going to burn the house down in the end, which is why he brought along a gasoline canister,” the indictment read.
According to the indictment, the accused forced his father with words and a knife to drive him to the cousin's house at night.
In addition to attempted murder, the prosecutor is seeking punishment for felony, home invasion and coercion.
