The Heinola City Mayor Tita Rinnevaara was removed on Monday night, following her defeat in a no-confidence vote.

The city council brought the no-confidence motion against the major for her failure to control the city administration and lack of ability to take decisions effectively.

Rinnevaara was defeated by 33 votes to 10 in the no-confidence motion.

The mayor was sacked just after two weeks of assuming the office and the decision will be effective immediately.

The city council has already appointed an ad hoc committee to run the office of the mayor.
