The Committee of Foreign Affairs in the parliament on Friday suggested conducting closer examination of the cyber and energy security.

The committee in its report on security policy also recommended that the parliament should have a bigger role in reviewing the country’s security and defence policy.

It also said the defence policy should be extended to cover the safety aspects in a broader way.

The committee has submitted the report with a recommendation for vesting the parliament with more authority to discuss the security and defence policy more often, not only keeping it limited to the proceeding review.

The report also contains a recommendation for instituting a parliamentary monitoring committee to gather sufficient information in advance for preparing a report on the defence policy.

The lawmakers observed that the recommendations included in the report should be implemented properly.
