Killings of aid workers
FTimes-STT Report, July 25
Investigation into Thursday’s murders of Finnish aid workers will be difficult, according to an assessment by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The responsibility of conducting the investigation rests mainly with the Afghan authorities and the issue will be dealt from the Finnish side by the NBI, sources in the NBI said.

Detective Inspector Mika Ihaksinen from the NBI said it will be considered later whether NBI will help with the investigation on the ground.

At the moment no one from the NBI has left for Afghanistan.

According to Ihaksinen, precise information on the killings in the country has so far been limited.

A confirmed report has been received about the way the attack was carried out and the location and identities of the victims.
