The Prime Minister, Alexander Stubb on Saturday strongly condemned the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov in Moscow, said an official press release.
 
Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed near the city center on Friday.
 
"It is with shock that I received the news about the murder of the Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov in Moscow. I condemn this act and hope that the political leadership and the judicial system in Russia will do their utmost to investigate the murder promptly and transparently", said Stubb in a statement.
 
The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the family members and friends of Nemtsov.
 
Meanwhile, the President Sauli Niinistö in an interview with YLE on Saturday said that he was personally acquainted with Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov and he condemned the murder in Moscow as an act of cruelty.
