Liina Aulin, the press secretary at the Office of the President told the news agency STT on Sunday that the present situation in Turkey would not hamper the pre-scheduled visit of the president, which will be carried out as normal from October 12 to 15.
According to the Office of the President, the preparations for the meeting will continue normally; however, the situation will be monitored in cooperation with the Finnish embassy in Turkey as well with Turkish authorities.
Niinistö offered his condolences following the devastating bomb attack in Ankara.
The president in his message of condolence sent to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Finland strongly condemns the attack.
Niinistö is scheduled to meet Erdogan in Ankara on Tuesday.
