Over the January to November 2015 period, Finland's population increased by 14,370 persons, which is 6,160 persons fewer than during the corresponding period of the year before. The main reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad as the number of im-migrants was 10,970 higher than that of emigrants. Natural population growth, or excess of births to deaths, was 3,400 persons, the statistics show. According to the preliminary statistics for the January to November 2015 period, 24,490 persons immigrated to Finland from abroad and 13,520 persons emigrated from Finland.
The number of immigrants was 4,990 lower and the number of emigrants 850 lower than in the cor-responding period of the previous year. During the January to November period, 50,810 children were born, which is 2,050 children fewer than in the corresponding period of 2014. The number of deaths was 47,410, which is 20 lower than one year earlier, according to the data.
The number of inter-municipal migrations totalled 253,760 over the January to November this year. Compared with the previous January to November period, the increase was 5,240 migrations ac-cording to the municipal division of 2015. More News
