“The media can speculate however much from anywhere,” said Niinistö during a visit to the Åland Islands.
The president also did not mention when he will decide his possible candidacy, saying it will be disclosed “at an appropriate moment.”
The president during his visit discussed the reform of the Act of the Autonomy of Åland, among other issues.
He described the talks as good and positive.
Niinistö also said the security situation in the Baltic Sea has calmed down.
