Seppo Tiitinen to end 23 years career

A total of 26 applications for the post of the Secretary General of Parliament were submitted before the Monday noon deadline.
 
Former long-term parliamentarian Kimmo Sasi, Safety Director of the Finnish Parliament Jukka Savola, Security Police boss Antti Pelttari, the Administrative Director at the Finnish Parliament Pertti Rauhio and State Secretary Jari Partanen are, among others, who have applied for the position.
 
The incumbent Secretary General Seppo Tiitinen's successor is set to take over at the turn of the year.
 
The Parliamentary Secretary General acts as the secretary of the parliament and the chief of the Parliamentary Office.
 
Tiitinen has acted as the Parliamentary Secretary General since 1992.
