An eyewitness described the jumper as a “spider-man who jumped across roof beams and then flipped himself out.”
It was similar to another base-jumping incident last fall. After that incident, various methods were set up to prevent jumpers.
“We implemented complicated security measures last fall to prevent jumpers. Unfortunately, the events of Saturday night show that, with the help of others, one person managed to overcome the obstacles,” said the hotel manager, Mikko Kankaanpää in a statement.
The security and safety of Tampere’s Torni Hotel, according to Kankaanpää, has been set up with a great deal of attention. That security is now being re-evaluated.
The hotel has 25 floors and is 88 metres high.
